Bergersbizness...
eBay Sales and Consignment Services

 Ledyard, CT 06339

If you are looking for a way to sell your goods online without having to do it yourself then you have come to the right spot. The name of our company is Bergersbizness and we are located in Southeastern Connecticut serving primarily the New London County area.  We offer an online consignment service where we take your merchandise and list it on eBay and sometimes other selling venues for the world to see and most importantly...BUY!  By selling online, you are exposing your merchandise to millions thus increasing your chances for it to sell.  So, let's get started!

"What type of things do you sell?"

We are all about variety so our listings include many different types of things. But, I will say that what we do sell is only quality merchandise. So, if it is broke or chipped, dirty or has stains, is defective, or of small value...we can't sell it.  It is easier to just ask us about your merchandise and we can determine from there if it is something that we think will sell for you.

I will say that one of the biggest reasons that I have in turning away certain items is that they are not of sufficient value. Sometimes we just have to be realistic and determine that though nothing is at all wrong with what you have, it just isn't going to bring a high enough dollar value to offer it online. But, always ask us FIRST because sometimes what you think is worthless might not be!

Other things to keep in mind when offering something to sell.....

  • Is it clean?....Does it work?....Is it stained, chipped, broke, torn, dinged, etc? Again, our buyers expect quality from us and we work hard to give them that. So, please look your piece over from top to bottom and try it out to make sure it still works.
  • Do I still have the original box?...The owners manual? This always helps the selling value if you can include the original box and/or paperwork that came with the product.
  • If it falls into the Designor Label line, do I have tags, receipts or anything to prove it is authentic?  Being that many designor label goods have become such high fraud items, anything to prove the authenticiy of your product will help it to sell.
  • If it is a collectible, can I identify it by its mark, logo, label, or pattern? When buyers are searching for something they look for it by either who made it or the pattern or design.
  • Is your item a name brand?  Certain categories of things like tools, small appliances, electronics, etc. naturally sell better if they are a name buyers will recognize.
  • If my item is vintage or antique, do I know its history?...Where did it come from?...How long has it been in the family?  The history of a piece can many times be the selling point of some vintage or antique goods. So, the more you know the better.
  • Is there a market for what I am wanting to sell? Well, many times we don't know this till we check. Sometimes what you might think is worthless might be something that is sought after. So, please check with us first before you dismiss something. With today's market being what it is, buyers are looking for quality merchandise without having to pay high retail prices.
  • Am I expecting a realistic price?  Prices go up and down. Product demand might be hot today and cold tomorrow. So, we can't always go by what you originally paid for an item or determined its worth to be a few years ago. For this reason, we research you merchandise to determine its current value. This value determines the starting price of your listing so that it is competitive with other like products being offered by other sellers.

"How much does it cost?"

This is another common question and we do have a seperate page with full details on this. But, to give you a quick ballpark idea I will tell you that to list and sell an item on eBay from start to finish you will incur fees of approximately 15-18% of the selling price of your listing. If you have ever listing anything on eBay you have found that it isn't free. There are listing fees, final value fees if it sells, and PayPal fees incurred when the buyer pays.  We keep none of these costs for ourselves. They are paid directly to eBay for the services they rendered.

Our commission is 30% of the selling price. If it doesn't sell then you don't pay us a commission.

"Why do I need a consignment service to do this for me?"

For most, the reason they turn to us is because they simply are too busy to do it themselves. It takes time to research , write descriptions, take pictures, and manage all the details selling online takes. Between work, home, kids, and other obligations that extra time just isn't there.  Then for some they find that the whole process just too much of a hassle.  Whatever your reason, we can help. All you have to do is wait for your check to arrive when your merchandise sells!

People decide to sell for a variety of reasons and we try to accommodate all these situations.  Can you say yes to any of these?

  • Do you have some great things you have collected over the years but you just don't quite love them as much as you once did?
  • Are you downsizing or maybe need too?
  • Are you moving and can't take everything with you?
  • Sadly, has a family member passed away and you are left with what to do with some belongings that you can't keep or don't have room for?
  • Are you a retailer and you need a way to sell overstock or clearance items for more than just pennies on the dollar?
  • Are you a non-profit looking for a way to raise extra money for your organization?

If one of these scenarios sounds like you then let us help.  For you it is simple.  Just contact us and let us know what are wishing to sell. You can find ways to reach us on the "About Us" page. Details on our fees and consignor requirements can be found on our other pages. Just click the proper tab above.

We look forward to hearing from you! Don't forget to look at our Consignor Showcase to see some of the things our wonderful consignors are selling! The next one could be yours!
