Unfortunately, selling online isn't free but we try to keep the cost at a minimum for you. First let me explain your options for listing.
LISTING OPTIONS
Auction Format
Most people start their listings out in auction format. These are started at a bit lower, yet fair selling price that that is competitive with other sellers. The more bids the higher it can go which is what makes auction selling so much fun. These listings run for 7 days and the item being sold must be have a value of at least $19.99. If the item doesn't sell in the first listing you have a couple of options:
- Relist the item to give it a second chance to sell. The listing will be looked at and we might discuss adjusting the starting price or trying a different selling format.
- Choose to not relist your item. Item will need to be picked up and you will be responsible for all listing fees incurred.
Fixed Price Format
- Listings run for up to 30 days at a time but instead of it being in an auction style the price will be set for one selling price. This price is usually a little higher than what you started your auctions at but still priced within the current resell value of your item.
- These listing have a "Buy It Now" Logo next to their price and buyers then buy the item on the spot instead of bidding. Feel free to look in our store to view how these listing appear to the buyer.
- We can also add a "Best Offer Option" if you like to wheel and deal. With this option buyers can give you an offer (which is a lower price) for what they would be willing to pay for the item. If it is acceptable to you then we can accept it and it is sold! If the price offered is not acceptable we decline the offer and the item stays for sale.
Store Format
If your item doesn't sell in the auction or fixed price format don't lose hope! There are still ways to try to sell your merchandise. Because we have a store on eBay we can list goods there in what they call Store Format. Maybe you are wondering, " What is a store format?" Basically, it is the same as the fixed price format except that the listing fees are only a few cents per 30 days making it very inexpensive for slow moving products to sit without accumulating lots of fees. The downside to the store format is that you don't get as high exposure as you do in auction or fixed priced listings. By this I mean that when a buyer searches for an item, the store format listing will be toward the bottom of the list.
And of course you can put your listing directly into our store using the store format and avoid the auction or fixed style listings all together if you like. But, do remember that you will have less exposure and it could take longer for your product to sell or be seen.
FEES
You, the Consignor, are responsible for all fees charged by eBay and PayPal. To give a rough estimate, the total fees charged to list and sell your item, can range between 15%- 18%. We receive none of these fees. They are paid directly to eBay and PayPal. The breakdown of these fees are:
- All eBay Insertion Fees, payable whether the listing sells or not. This includes auction, fixed price, and store format listings.
- All Final Value Fees charged by eBay upon the sale of your listing.
